The couple were two incredibly kind and captivating people, Sheila & Josh. They live in Santa Monica and work in the performing arts, and Josh grew up in Falmouth. Many of the guests were in Maine for the first time, and she did not disappoint in giving everyone a classic October weekend.
Sheila’s father, a minister, married the couple on the lawn of the Gisland Farm, at an altar he constructed out of Sheila’s childhood treehouse. Let me be clear – this man is a GIFTED orator – Several times during the ceremony I had to “snap out of it” and remember what I was doing, lest I take a knee and listen to to the rest of the service get delivered in his warm, soothing Chilean accent!
As we started the photo sessions after the ceremony, a plane buzzed low overhead, dragging a banner that read “CONGRATULATIONS SHEILA & JOSH” – a really nice touch, courtesy of the best man.
After the photos, the caravan moved down Rt. 88 to the Sea Grill to catch a gorgeous sunset before settling in for a night of dancing, speeches, and fun. My man Kevin from Old Port Photo Booth was there printing photos, and Sly Chi brought the house down.
It’s a shame they live so far away. I would love to hang with this couple. Congratulations Sheila & Josh!
